HauntingsThe Grosvenor Hotels Cellars date back to about 1000 years ago, it is here that the Dorset Paranormal Societys findings suggest that Ghost of a Monk appears to lurk. In Saxon times there was no strict seclusion for nuns so monks were regular visitors and played an active role in the work of the abbey. There are tunnels which zig zag their way under the historic town of shaftesbury and one theory is that the monk is connected to a story relating to an underground labrynth.There also appears to be a ghost of a lady that haunts the Grosvenor wearing a long grey dress and is reported to haunt the upper floors. Those who claim to have seen and heard her, say that she seems to be in some considerable distress and that she seems to be searching for something. What is upsetting her is unclear, but the Dorest Paranormal society have vowed to continue their investigations until the find out.
